You can attach a file to a record, and once attached, you can download or view it, edit the file information, or delete it.
To attach a file to a record
When you are creating or editing a record, an Attach File button will be displayed.
NOTE: Most record types permit files to be attached; however, there are some that do not.
Click Attach File.
The Attach Files window appears.
In the Select File field, type the path for the file, or click Browse to locate and open the file.
NOTE: You will not be permitted to upload any of the following file types: .exe, .pif, .scr, .bat, .dll, .com, .ini, etc.
NOTE: The maximum permitted size of the files you uploaded will be noted in red text. You will not be able to upload files greater than this size.
(Optional) In the File Title field, type the name of the file.
(Optional) In the File Description field, type a description of the file.
In the User Access box, select the users who can access the file.
(Optional) To spell check the file name and description, click Spell Check.
Click Attach File.
When the upload is complete, the page will refresh, displaying the details of the file in the File Attachments table.
To attach another file, follow steps 3-8 in this procedure.
Click Close Window when finished uploading files.
NOTE: You can refresh the window at any time by clicking Refresh Table.
To download or view a file you attached
From the File Attachments table, click Download/View File.
If the file type is recognizable by your Web browser, it displays in a Web browser window. If the file type is not recognizable, you can download and save it by clicking Save and specifying the location for saving the file.
To edit the file information
From the File Attachments table, click the Edit File Profile button for the file you want to edit.
Edit the name or description in the File Title and File Description fields.
When you are finished, click Save & Return.
To delete an attached file
From the File Attachments table, click the Delete File button for the file you want to delete.
Click OK to confirm the deletion.
